Peter Capaldi
Peter might be best known for playing the ferocious spin doctor Malcolm Tucker in four series of THE THICK OF IT (for which he won both a BAFTA and two British Comedy Awards) He also starred in the film spin off, IN THE LOOP. He played the iconic role of DOCTOR WHO in the long running, internationally celebrated BBC television series from 2014 to 2017 He played Mr Micawber in Armando Iannucci’s big screen adaptation of DAVID COPPERFIELD and super villain The Thinker in James Gunn’s THE SUICIDE SQUAD. He played the older Siegfried in the late Terence Davies’ biography of Siegfried Sassoon, BENEDICTION. He played Mr. Curry in the hugely successful PADDINGTON and PADDINGTON 2, and has played roles in movies as diverse as DANGEROUS LIAISONS, LOCAL HERO, LAIR OF THE WHITE WORM, WORLD WAR Z.
As a writer and director, Peter wrote and starred in the comedy road movie SOFT TOP HARD SHOULDER, and won a BAFTA and the Academy award for best short film for writing and directing FRANZ KAFKA’S IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE. He also directed the first series of the award-winning BBC 4 NHS series GETTING ON, wrote and directed the BBC 4 comedy THE CRICKLEWOOD GREATS.
In a long career he has appeared in many notable television productions Including PRIME SUSPECT, MINDER, POIROT, SKINS, PEEP SHOW, THE MUSKETEERS, THE HOUR, THE DEVIL’S HOUR and is well known for his theatre work, including ABSURDIA and CONSTELLATIONS for the Donmar Warehouse, THE JUDAS KISS, Almedia and Broadway, FEELGOOD and THE LADY-KILLERS in London’s West End. Last year he released St Christopher, his first album of original songs, produced by Dr Robert of The Blow Monkeys and is set to release a new album later this year.
