Maria Schrader

Maria is an acclaimed German actress, screenwriter, and director. She has an extensive international career starring in the German international hit TV series DEUTSCHLAND 83, known for being the first German-language series broadcast on US television. She can also be seen in FORTITUDE (Sky Atlantic), as the lead in Tom Shankland’s THE CITY AND THE CITY (BBC2) opposite David Morrissey and DEUTSCHLAND 86 (Hulu). She was most recently seen in DEUTSCHLAND 89 (Amazon). 

Last year Maria won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Limited Series for her work on UNORTHADOX (Netflix), and directed Universal’s upcoming SHE SAID.
