Alan Cumming
Alan’s many awards for his acting include the Tony, Olivier, British Comedy, BAFTA, and multiple Golden Globe, Emmy and SAG award nominations. He is also an Independent Spirit award-winning producer and National Board of Review winning director. Arguably, Alan’s most notable theatrical role was THE MASTER OF CEREMONIES in CABARET for which he won the Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics’ Circle, NY Press, Theater World and the New York Public Advocate’s awards. Other notable theatre credits include THE THREEPENNY OPERA opposite Cyndi Lauper, Noel Coward’s DESIGN FOR LIVING, Off-Broadway in Jean Genet’s ELLE (which he also adapted), THE SEAGULL, opposite Dianne Wiest, John Tiffany’s radical & highly acclaimed reimagining of MACBETH in which he played all the roles, Jeremy O. Harris’ DADDY and most recently Beckett’s ENDGAME opposite Daniel Radcliffe. Alan’s film career has spanned such studio franchises as X-MEN, SPY KIDS and GOLDENEYE, classics like ROMY & MICHELLE’S HIGH SCHOOL REUNION and CIRCLE OF FRIENDS, as well as independent films such as ANY DAY NOW and THE ANNIVERSARY PARTY which he wrote, directed and produced with Jennifer Jason Leigh. More recently he starred in INSTINCT playing Dylan Reinhart, the first gay protagonist in any US network drama. Prior to that, he starred as Eli Gold in seven seasons of the CBS smash hit THE GOOD WIFE. He has guested on shows as diverse as DOCTOR WHO, SEX AND THE CITY, THE SIMPSONS, WEB THERAPY and BROAD CITY Alan will next be seen in SCHMIGADOON for Apple.
